I'm absolutely thrilled to have been invited to offer another of my paintings for the 2025 Christmas Daddies telethon and auction on CTV Atlantic. I'm delighted to have contributed this painting, entitled Todd’s Island, to this great cause. The painting (9" x 12") depicts a quiet cove where fisherman and sailors anchor their boats in St. Margaret’s Bay. Since the program’s first broadcast in 1964, Christmas Daddies has raised over $40 million dollars for less fortunate children in our area. Last year the fund-raiser provided more than 18,000 Maritime children with food, toys and gifts at Christmas.

So excited to be part of "one of the top 10 reasons to visit Halifax in 2025"
That's how Discover Halifax described the upcoming Peggys Cove Area Festival of the Arts and the associated Studio Tour.
The Festival has really put the area on art-lovers' maps and is now a "must do" for many visitors.
The Festival runs between July 9th and 20th, and I'm delighted to be showing my work on July 18, 19 and 20 when artists take part in the grand Studio Tour.
During the three-day event, studios, group showings, and galleries are open at 45 different locations between 10 am and 5 pm to showcase the works of diverse talented artists.
I will be at location 36 on the studio tour map... that's upstairs in St Luke's Church, 5374 St Margaret's Bay Road in Upper Tantallon. I'll be sharing the space with members of Brushstrokes By the Bay and the Red Roof Artists.

Feed your body and your soul
Next time you pop into the Bike and Bean cafe in Upper Tantallon, you can view some of my smaller water colours (pictured left).
I am delighted that I've been invited to join other artists from our area for the month of July to display some of our work on the walls of this popular cafe.

I'm happy my art could help children in need
One of my original paintings was among the items auctioned for a really good cause in this year's CTV Christmas Daddies annual telethon.

Bidding on my watercolour, Winter on the Farm (pictured), started at $100 and ten bids later it closed at $250. Altogether the telethon raised more than $559,000.
I was really happy to be able to donate a piece for the auction. It's a great cause. Each year, since 1964, the telethon has provided food and gifts to more than 18,000 children across the Maritimes.

July 12, 13, 14, 2024
Seventy artists at 44 locations
My first time exhibiting at the Peggy’s Cove Studio Art Tour was exhilarating and eye opening. We had over 330 visitors in a three day period at studios six and 13. I met people from as far away as New Zealand as well as friends I hadn’t seen in 30 years.
What a wonderful way to show off beautiful St. Margaret’s Bay and the bounty of amazing artists who live in and around the area.
I enjoyed spending those days with the talented Louise Mussett, Beth Newman, Margo Mosher Swain, Heather Elms-Wood, Mike Tindal and Maureen McArthur (top picture).
I would also like to thank my talented Glen Margaret painters at the William Black site for watching over my paintings in my absence.
Thanks to Marie Fagan for purchasing the painting on the easel, which I named Time Out. I am glad it found a good home.
